With our very first blog of 2015, we would like to wish you a very happy new year! Lets hope 2015 will be a great year.

In this blog, we want to talk to you about shopping in Antwerp, cause shopping and Antwerp are two things which go together perfectly! And if you’re considering Leopold Hotel Antwerp, this might be the post to convince you as our hotel is located just around the corner from where the fun happens!

Whether you’ve had an intensive time at work with plenty of meetings, or you’ve planned a nice getaway-weekend with your friends and family, Antwerp will give you the time to get relaxed and have a great time.

De Keyserlei

Just around the corner a 3 minute walk from the hotel, you can find De Keyserlei. This is the main street in front of Antwerp's Central Station where you can find shops, bars, restaurants and a cinema.

Tips to visit/go to:

* Are you ready for a nice steak? Visit the Argentinian Steak Restaurant on corner of De Keyserlei – Breydelstraat.

* More into Italian dishes? Try Milano. A cute little Italian restaurant with excellent food and service!

* Want to have a nice evening with a great movie? Go to UGC Antwerp at De Keyserlei. A big cinema with chairs you’ll fall in love with!

Meir Shopping Street

Just a quick walk from Leopold Hotel Antwerp you’ll find THE shopping street of Antwerp with all commercial stores located on one street. Shop after shop after shop, let the shopping start! Meir is the most important shopping street of Antwerp and is also the most popular street of town.

Tips to visit/go to:

* Stadsfeestzaal: At the center of the Meir, you’ll find a very impressing building well worth a visit! The Stadsfeestzaal is currently carrying 35 stores. This beautifully renovated (2004-2007) building reopened in 2007.

* Done shopping at the Meir? Continue walking to the Groenplaats near the Cathedral Of Our Lady. Here you’ll find another indoor shopping place: Grand Bazaar. With little clothing stores, a chocolate store, some bars and a big store for music, books and electronics! The shopping will never end, will it?

Wijnegem Shopping Center

Want to shop indoors? Stop looking! Just a short 20 minute tram ride from Antwerp, you’ll find the biggest indoor shopping mall of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg with a total of 250 stores!

Personally, I love to visit both the Meir Shopping Street and Wijnegem. But my favorite will be Wijnegem as its nice and warm inside especially with these cold winter days. End your evening in the cinemas where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the movies.

Hope to see you soon in Leopold Hotel Antwerp to provide you all the right info for a great shopping experience in Antwerp!
